Tennispark 'Het Kattenlaantje'

Tennisclub Kattenlaan is een tennisvereniging op een prachtig park, “Het Kattenlaantje” gelegen in het Vondelpark.

Anders dan bij de meeste tennisverenigingen huurt de vereniging de banen niet van de gemeente, maar van een particuliere eigenaar. Samen met drie andere partijen, te weten tennisclub Vondelpark Wintertennis, tennisschool Tennis Op Maat (TOM) en de horeca wordt er gezorgd dat het park het hele jaar door optimaal gebruikt wordt voor vrij tennis, toernooien en competitie, kan er les genomen worden bij de tennisschool en kan er in het clubhuis of op het terras genoten worden van een hapje en een drankje. 

Het is de bedoeling dat iedereen die komt tennissen, niet veel merkt van de aanwezigheid van de verschillende partijen op het park, maar het is wel belangrijk om het volgende te weten: 

• Tennisclub Kattenlaan en Vondelpark Wintertennis zijn twee verschillende tennisclubs. 
  
  • Tennisclub Kattenlaan (TCK) is actief vanaf 1 april tot en met 14 oktober. Om te kunnen tennissen heb je een lidmaatschap van de club nodig. 
  • Vondelpark Wintertennis is actief vanaf 15 oktober tot en met 31 maart. Om te kunnen tennissen heb je een lidmaatschap van de club nodig.
• Om twaalf maanden per jaar te kunnen tennissen heb je dus twee lidmaatschappen nodig. Lid van de ene club, betekent niet dat je voorrang krijgt om lid te worden van de andere club.
• Veel van onze leden zijn ook lid van Vondelpark Wintertennis. Een groot verschil tussen de beide clubs is dat TCK met een doorlopend lidmaatschap werkt, terwijl je bij Vondelpark Wintertennis een seizoensabonnement hebt wat je jaarlijks zelf moet vernieuwen.

• Om tennisles te kunnen volgen op park "Het Kattenlaantje" kun je jezelf inschrijven bij tennisschool Tennis Op Maat (TOM). Let op, je hebt eerst een lidmaatschap van de tennisclub die dat seizoen actief is nodig. Je mag namelijk alleen gebruik maken van de tennisbanen als je lid bent van de club die dat deel van het jaar gebruik maakt van het park. Je kunt hier meer informatie vinden over lessen bij TOM. 
  • Tennisschool TOM is twaalf maanden per jaar actief op park "Het Kattenlaantje"
  • Om te kunnen lessen bij TOM heb je een lidmaatschap nodig van de club die tijdens dat seizoen actief is. Voor onze club geldt dus dat als je voor een nieuw seizoen inschrijft om te lessen bij TOM, je op dat moment al lid moet zijn van onze club.
  • Leden van TCK hebben voorrang om in te schrijven op de lessen bij TOM voor het zomerseizoen tot een bepaald moment dat jaarlijks bepaald wordt (in 2023 is dat 1 februari), daarna komen er plekken vrij voor nieuwe leden. 
    • Wat veel voorkomt is dat leden van Vondelpark Wintertennis lessen bij TOM en dat willen voorzetten als het zomerseizoen aanbreekt. Dat kan dus alleen als je lid bent van TCK!

De samenwerking tussen de verschillende partijen op het park is goed. Er is regelmatig overleg om het voor de leden zo prettig mogelijk te maken.

Sinds tennis de afgelopen jaren weer heel populair is geworden, heeft TCK te maken met een vol ledenbestand, waardoor lid worden niet meer makkelijk is. Dat levert soms onduidelijkheid op voor vooral mensen die vanuit de winter door willen gaan in de zomer. Je hebt namelijk geen voorrang om lid te worden bij de ene club, als je lid bent van de andere club. 


Dus waar moet je vooral op letten: 

- Tennisclub Kattenlaan, Vondelpark Wintertennis en tennisschool Tennis Op Maat zijn onafhankelijk van elkaar functionerende partijen. Ze werken goed samen, maar er bestaat niet zoiets als een lidmaatschap voor alle drie de partijen. Je kan bijvoorbeeld ook geen lessen regelen via de club(s). 

- Om lid te kunnen worden van Tennisclub Kattenlaan moet je op tijd inschrijven, om kans te maken lid te kunnen worden. Dus als je na de winter door wil tennissen of trainen in het zomerseizoen dien je je op tijd bij TCK aan te melden om je kans te vergroten. Tennisclub Kattenlaan is a tennis club on a beautiful park, "Het Kattenlaantje" located in the Vondelpark.

Unlike most tennisclubs, TCK does not rent the courts from the municipality, but from a private owner. Together with three other parties, namely tennis club Vondelpark Wintertennis, tennis school Tennis Op Maat (TOM) and the catering / clubhouse, we ensure that the park is used optimally throughout the year for free tennis, tournaments and competition. tennis lessons at the tennisschooll and you can enjoy a drink and a snack in the clubhouse or on the terrace.

It is the intention that everyone who comes to play tennis will not notice much of the presence of the various parties in the park, but it is important to know the following:

• Tennisclub Kattenlaan and Vondelpark Wintertennis are two different tennis clubs.
  • Tennisclub Kattenlaan (TCK) is active from April 1 to October 14. You need a club membership to play tennis.
  • Vondelpark Wintertennis is active from October 15 to March 31. You need a club membership to play tennis.
• To be able to play tennis twelve months a year, you need two memberships. Being a member of one club does not mean you will be given priority to join the other club. 
• Many of our members are also members of Vondelpark Wintertennis. A big difference between the two clubs is that TCK works with a continuous membership, while at Vondelpark Wintertennis you have a season subscription that you have to renew annually.

• To take tennis lessons at park "Het Kattenlaantje" you can register at tennis school Tennis Op Maat (TOM). But beware, you first need a membership of the tennis club that is active that season. You can only use the tennis courts if you are a member of the club that uses the park that part of the year. You can find more information about lessons at TOM here.
  • Tennis school TOM is active twelve months a year at park "Het Kattenlaantje"
  • To be able to take lessons at TOM you need a membership of the club that then uses the park. So for our club, if you register for a new season to take lessons at TOM, you must already be a member of our club at that time.
  • Members of TCK have priority to register for classes at TOM for the summer season until a certain time that is determined annually (in 2023 that will be February 1), after which places will become available for new members.
    • What often happens is that members of the winter club take lessons at TOM and want to continue that when the summer season starts. However, that is only possible if you are a member of TCK!
      

The tennisclubs, tennischool and catering / clubhouse work well together . They regularly coordinate with each other, to make it as pleasant as possible for the members.

Since tennis has become very popular again in recent years, TCK has had to deal with a full membership base, which means that becoming a member is no longer easy. This sometimes creates a lack of clarity, especially for people who want to continue from the winter into the summer. You do not have priority to become a member of one club if you are a member of the other club.

So what should you pay extra attention to:

- Tennisclub Kattenlaan, Vondelpark Wintertennis and tennis school Tennis Op Maat are independent parties. They work well together, but there is no such thing as a membership for all three parties. You can't for example organise to take lessons by contacting the club(s).

- To become a member of Tennisclub Kattenlaan, you must register in time to have a chance to become a member. So if you want to continue playing tennis from the winter or train in the summer season, you must register in time to increase your chance.
